Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme changed

New guidance published yesterday has confirmed the eligibility date has been extended to 19 March 2020 – the day before the scheme was announced.

Employers can claim for furloughed employees that were employed and on their PAYE payroll on or before 19 March 2020.

This means that the employee must have been notified to HMRC through an RTI submission notifying payment in respect of that employee on or before 19 March 2020.

Companies House filing extension

Companies House have said businesses can apply for an extension of up to 3 months to allow for delays caused by COVID-19. You have to give a reason why you want to defer, and it will only be granted if applied for before the original filing date.  This is useful for all companies not subject to any other filing regs. such as FCA.
